2006

Ryan attributes much of his passion for monster trucks to his father, former Backdraft driver Rick Disharoon. Having spent the majority of his childhood around monster trucks with his father, Ryan's interest was further fueled when his father purchased two Jeep Kaiser M715s. The intention was to build an off-road truck similar to Rick's former 1988 mud truck Wet N' Wild. They combined the best of the two Jeeps, creating one highly capable off-road truck for competing.

Ryan debuted Saigon Shaker at its first mud bog event in Gumboro, Delaware. It powered into the mud but was ultimately defeated by other competitors. The defeat served as a challenge to Disharoon to become the best competitor possible.

Innovations and perseverance helped the Saigon Shaker become a feared name in the mud racing scene. Evolving from a basic mud truck that would dig to the 200-foot mark, would now run a 250-foot hill and hole track in 3.9 seconds.

2010

Still not satisfied, the father-son-duo started development of the Saigon Shaker monster truck. Over the course of 3 years, with many long nights, Saigon Shaker monster truck was built as a side line project created with the intent for much more.

2014

Ryan is ready to debut the newly built Metal Shop original monster truck in his hometown show at the Wicomico Civic Center.

2015

Ryan first appeared to fans of Monster Jam at the Lion’s stadium, also known as Ford Field, in Detroit, MI. This opportunity was long anticipated after spending months on a waiting list, just to be considered a backup. This appearance served as an audition, alongside another backup performance at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, WV, for Disharoon’s Monster Jam career.

2016

Ryan is given a full first quarter schedule with Monster Jam in one of their arena tours, covering the East Coast. After completing the tour, Ryan was able to prove to the officials that he had complete control of the Saigon Shaker and was qualified for a position in the Young Guns Shoot Out (now known as the Double Down Showdown) at the Monster Jam World Finals XVI.

2017

Having proven himself, Ryan was upgraded to their stadium tour and has competed at this level to date. He is constantly up against the biggest names in monster truck racing, pushing Ryan to keep evolving the design and function of the Saigon Shaker.

Today

Ryan prides himself as not only a driver, but as an innovator in the sport. He has taught himself how to design with 3D modeling so he could further push the boundaries on what makes the perfect chassis design. The Saigon Shaker now features what Ryan calls the Gen X chassis. Now that the truck is at its peak in design, Ryan is now focusing on his own skills as a driver to bring home the gold in two-wheel skill competitions.
